The word May be when to type two words and when it will come in one word

May be & maybe...

1) The word "maybe" means perhaps and it functions more as a modifying word. It can actually be removed without damaging the structure of a sentence. eg. Maybe we can consider a separation. This, maybe, will be easier to try. It will rain, maybe.

2) The word "may be" means 'be' or 'exist'. It is part of a verb and cannot be removed from a sentence.
eg. This may be the cause of her irritation. This may be the only reason for this incident.
