grammar - Imran khan - 25-02-2008 hi, how to grammatically use followup and follow up in the text area Re: grammar - krissytee - 27-02-2008 Followup is a noun. Follow up is a verb. For example: The patient was asked to follow up with his primary care physician. The patient was seen in followup for his recent knee replacement. Re: grammar - shravani - 13-03-2008 Thanks krissytee, I am a new MT and it is really helpful to me. Re: grammar - Divine Dunda - 18-03-2010 I never completely understood noun/verb funda :o. For that matter, I never understood Hindi Vyakararn ;D. My village idea - use follow up in a sentence if it comes after "to". RE: grammar - deepavishnu - 24-10-2010 You do not hav to get confused on this issue. Just make sure if u can use "a" before followup then it is a single word (there are exceptions!!!), Eg. a followup appointment; for a followup tomorrow; a scheduled followup appointment; a followup scheduled on Tuesday; for a followup next monday. If "a" cannot be used, then it is a double word, follow up. for eg. the patient was asked to follow up next week, The patient was asked to follow up with an appointment (plz note "a" cannot be used here before follow up, so double word). for your reference: The patient is to follow up on Monday. The patient is here for a followup. The patient has been asked to follow up with Dr Dass. The patient's followup has been scheduled for the next week. The patient is here for a followup. The patient has requested a followup appointment tomorrow. RE: grammar - shravani - 31-10-2010 That is really easy! RE: grammar - san_kad23 - 21-11-2010 thanks "deepavishnu" RE: grammar - rockyarora - 27-02-2013 This seems difficult but yes deepa's explanation was bit helpful..still there are many words like this which create this verb-non conflict in our mind.. RE: grammar - rockyarora - 11-03-2013 YOU NEED TO HAVE THE BASIC SKILLS OF THE GRAMMAR AND WOULD ONLY COME BY READING AND READING |
