New Member says Hi and needs advice - chickie51 - 20-10-2008 Hi, I found this site while looking for any info to help me decide which school to go to. ??? I have been researching the following schools which were all listed on the ADHI website. M-Tec Exact Med Andrews School Career Step Can Scribe Andrews Holbrook Does anyone have any positive/negative comments about any of these? Or can I safely go with the least expensive school and still expect to take my Certification Test at the completion of the curriculum. Does it make a difference in any way if you attend a college or trade school? Thanks to all who answer. Pat Re: New Member says Hi and needs advice - kiran - 23-10-2008 Hi Pat, Here lot of members are from India. I think you are asking about some US schools. Go to mtchat.com and ask the community. There you can see primarily US MTs. Re: New Member says Hi and needs advice - yogagirl - 04-01-2009 Before I started in transcribing, I spent one entire summer researching schools. Here is what I came up with: There are only three online schools that are worth anything (meaning that if you graduate you will almost be assured of a job) and those schools are Andrews, M-Tec, Inc, and Career Step. The reason these schools are so good is that they have job support built into their program. Most have built up alliances with MT companies and because these schools provide a good product, many companies will hire newbies from these schools because they are such good workers. I personally attended M-Tec, Inc. and cannot speak highly enough about their training. The course is tough--very tough--the tests are hard but when you finish you will be able to work as a transcriber and that really is the bottom line--being able to get a job.
