I am a physiotherapist and I entered the MT field in 2000 after 6 months training (it was mainly to improve my typing speed as I was very familiar with medical terms and English aspect of the training) as a transcriptionist, but I never was long into transcription and was promoted to QA 1st level after 6 months training due to my familiarity with medical terms and knowledge about patient care in the hospital. I was able to go to QA 2nd level in another 6 months and also was handling every new account that the company got until their clearance. But as was the case at that time, MTs were ruled by their bosses and I never got a hike until 3 years even though they took out the last mL of juice from my body, at which time I quit the company and got into HBT since mid 2003, since by then I had got some links about companies offering good rates, which I stated in my earlier posts. My target is to earn above 45K every month and I am very committed to doing so.

mt4life, if you can quote a rate for 40 min of DU per day for the work that you may have, I am interested for that offer if rates are good (you can decide after a test...since quality varies depending on the dictation).

Dennis pillai... The VRE software Gemstar is new to me, so I am a bit hesitant to take it. WordScript is fine, but I am still waiting for a better rate (no hard feelings... your rates are good though.)
