To set the records straight, I would like to mention that the rates mentioned above are for direct upload MTs who can both transcribe and edit, not for people in fancy positions like first level QA, second level QA, first level MT, second level MT, proof reader etc.
You may enquire with companies like Perry Johnson Outsourcing and I think there are a few posts in this forum who offer this money... for example, http://mtforum.in/showthread.php?tid=355... now you do not want me to spoonfeed you on that.. use your time to check old posts to find out companies paying those rates instead of complaining about the rates of other companies and using all useless words like vendors, brokers, retailer, stockist, direct, indirect, etc... these are all obsolete words used until some time ago to fool the MTs and suck out commissions at various levels by the businessmen. Thankfully, most these businessmen have deserted this industry during US recession and shifted to other business ventures, but still some remain who employ fresh MTs with least pay and care a damn about quality and keep on making money until the client in US kicks him in the back and withholds a month's pay as penalty and the businessman has no money to pay his MTs who are already getting peanuts.
as I have mentioned in my post, the highest bracket rates are reserved for excellent MTs who can deliver quality and quantity better than a normal MT - the best in the industry. These rates are not for MTs who still think that transcribing 500 lines direct upload per day is like climbing Mt. Everest and the editors who think that editing 1000 lines per day is the ultimate goal to achieve in life and those who like to only edit but not transcribe a single line.
The most important factor is that the talented MTs should come out of the mindset of most of Indians, which is that you can only have a secure job if you are working under some Tom, Dick, and Harry who wears expensive clothes, knows good English, has a degree from Harvard, has a big car, and employs a beautiful receptionist and a lot of people like HR manager, CEOs, COOs, CFO, CA, chef, baker, electrician, gardener etc, who are all relatives of the owner. I can still remember that in a company where I worked in 2003 as a QA before becoming a home-based direct upload MT, the owner's +2 passed brother was appointed as the production manager because he was not interested in higher studies and wanted to show he was holding a high position to his prospective bride's family. You can as well imagine the status of the owner, who I later came to know was also a +2 pass and started this company on the funds provided by his cousin who was in real estate and wanted to legalize his black money showing that he owned a loss-making company and escape from paying taxes for his black money. So, you can imagine the kind of people who are running this industry in India.
You should realize that these kind of owners suck your potential income to pay all the other people and also pockets a huge margin to maintain his car and family, since the only income generated in the company is from the payment of MT lines that are processed by the hard-working MTs while the rest of the people simply sit and enjoys a huge salary. Instead, you should work for a pure outsourcing company with minimal in-house manpower who I am sure will provide the above rates, and then work from your home, but they would be demanding on the quality and quantity aspects when giving such rates. I assure you that the only expensive thing you are going to buy is a good inverter, rest is all really inexpensive. The power cost and internet are not going to cost much and you can save a lot of time and money by working from home rather than rushing back and forth from home to the office in peak hour traffic.
