In any company, SMGC or otherwise, the term "any number of blanks and pends" refers to real tough dictations where it is advised to better leave blanks rather than create your own report. In fact you will not be selected for the job if you funk in the test files which consists of moderate-to-difficult dictation files of the available account. Even after your are selected your performance will be monitored constantly by the auditing QAs, because no company wants a burden of a direct MT pending more than 10% of his total files to the QA. Earlier there was 2nd level and 3rd level QAs but now companies are not willing to pay for such fancy positions.. instead are keen to employ an MT who can work independently and who can take responsibility for his quality and client satisfaction. So, if you are good at your job, you deserve this rate. By the way, if you see the recent posts, you will notice that these rates are the standard rates being offered... anything below this is peanuts, because you are not pursuing a hobby or doing a charity.. you have a right to get good pay and lead a decent life.
Regarding the reliability of SMGC, I am working for the company for the past 3 years and getting this rate.. rest is for you to decide.
