"Upto INR 2.5 per line for direct uploaders"
We are having Diwali sales all over India and they offer "upto" 80% discount on their exciting sales. Read....this means that the discount on the product would be a maximum of 20% and this 80% discount lure is just to pull in dumb customers. Do I understand this to mean we can expect the same?
Secondly, "Variation in quality may lead to changes in rates." This is frightening language to use. You imply that after being successful in passing the test and starting work, anytime you feel the quality is not up to your exacting standards, the 80% may become 20% or whatever depending on your whims?
Lastly, this part "they will be able to meet quality standards higher than US clients" is laughable. US clients want minimum of 99% plus and Indian companies would be happy with 99.9% plus on a constant basis. So what exactly do you mean by quality higher than US clients? I believe efficiency and quality for anything is generally marked at 100%. You cannot better that I think, but I am confused now.
So pray, please clarify the above. I am sure potential MTs would like to make sure before taking up working for you if you were clearer and address the issues raised above.

Companies like this posting for "Senior typists" are a blot on Medical Transcription Industry. Just because they have a client they think they can treat MTs working in Industry at their mercy by inserting clause in advertisement for recruitment stating "Variation in quality may lead to changes in rates." What has the MT to do if there is variation in the quality of the voice files that you are sending across, what if the dictator is varying his pitch and tone from bad to worst." When you cannot address the issues of voice and dictation of dictator please do not post such ridiculous ads.
Better learn about what MT industry is and what quality standards are in US MT industry then comment...Do you think MT industry would have survived for 20+ years without providing the client the required accuracy over the years...constantly???

In response to the clarifications requested
1. Upto INR 2.5 means exactly what it states, depending on quality the rate offered may vary between INR 1.00 ( minimum ) and INR 2.5 ( maximum for direct uploaders). A rate will be offered at the end of the two week trial. If it is not satisfactory there is no contractual obligation to work for us
2. Even though we are an Australian company we have US clients as well as local clients and MTs in Canada, US , Australia and India. There is a marked variation of what is acceptable in the US and in Australia both in terms of quality and grammar. This is not a generic statement and is not meant to antagonise anyone. With our clients it is a fact and has been stated as such. If you are providing 99.9% accuracy for your US clients please do apply to us with your cv and we would be very happy to work out a suitable rate.
3. The rate offered is based on accuracy witnessed in the two week trial period. If the accuracy dips lower than what was witnessed and remains consistently low then it is obviously a problem and unfair to other MTs who are more accurate on the same client and who may be producing lower volumes to maintain that accuracy. On the other hand if the accuracy is consistently higher which is what normally happens once the typist gets used to the files, it is unfair to stick to the same rates as was agreed upon and so it should be raised. Hence the clause for variation.
If anyone has any further queries please do not hesitate to post them here or send us a email at hr@espidi.com.au

I am not sure what exactly do you mean. We are looking for medical transcriptionists who can listen to audio and transcribe.

We have been recieving a lot of queries, here is a list of FAQs
1. Since the client is so picky , what is the audio quality like
We have a large number of clients and for our Indian operation we have allocated a pool of the best dictators. All Indian typists will get the same set of dictators from this pool. The audio is very good but it takes time to understand the accent and formatting requirements of each dictator. Also dictator quality is a comparative statement. To some typists what sounds easy maybe hard for others. But the key thing is regular dictators so that typists get used to them. The pool is a set amount of dictators, the only variance being Australian holidays when the pool is low so Typists will have to type new doctors or whatever is available.
2. Is it VRE or manual typing
It is manual typing using the Emdat online software. VRE is not widely accepted in Australia unlike the US
3. Can I commit to x number of lines per day/month
We cannot have typists coming in adhoc and working an hour or two whenever they feel like and that is the reason why we insist on a committed number of hours or lines for HBTs. How much you do is upto you. Obviously the more you do the better it is .
4. Are there shifts or is this only a daytime job ?
There are no shifts. We encourage a healthy life work balance and do not condone night shifts unless the typists want to do it for monetary reasons

Thank you for all the applications so far. We still have some vacancies so please do not hesitate to contact us. We are very happy to match and exceed any existing payment being made as long as the candidate meets the requirements specified in the advertisement. We are now looking for 2 QAs as well. There is a separate advertisement for that. Moderators please delete that advert if it is in violation of forum rules and we will re advertise on this thread
