Before I started in transcribing, I spent one entire summer researching schools. Here is what I came up with: There are only three online schools that are worth anything (meaning that if you graduate you will almost be assured of a job) and those schools are Andrews, M-Tec, Inc, and Career Step. The reason these schools are so good is that they have job support built into their program. Most have built up alliances with MT companies and because these schools provide a good product, many companies will hire newbies from these schools because they are such good workers.
I personally attended M-Tec, Inc. and cannot speak highly enough about their training. The course is tough--very tough--the tests are hard but when you finish you will be able to work as a transcriber and that really is the bottom line--being able to get a job.
